And I'm not going to say what happened in case SinnyMinny hasn't seen it yet,
:-P
But WHAT A GREAT SURVIVOR that was!!!
I would have kicked myself in the ass if I had missed that episode!!!
Me and the kids were doing the Happy Dance all over the living room.
And to see him *sniff* *sob* crying like a baby,
It gave me the warm fuzzies inside to see that.
Awwww, the Survivors are making all Nicey-Nice over at their blog now, such good little Survivors.
So Meg, NOW can we send the hurricane over there?
The plague of locusts?
Some mosquitoes maybe?

I think that's what the Survivors don't get.
Their entries affect each of us in a different way, so if they don't understand how *our* votes go, they should keep that in mind. Us judges are *very* different kinds of people.
As for Jenistar's, I agree with Heather. I thought it was awesome that she was able to tell a point of view completely at odds with her own, without turning the woman into a monster. I was very impressed, and she was my second choice.
I don't really have a 'favorite' contestant in DS3. I do read every IC entry and vote for the one that touches me somehow. And I don't mind revealing my votes here. I voted for Racer96 in the last IC. While reading his entry, I had a flashback to my childhood and someone telling me to stop stepping on people's 'resting places' or "There's a body under that spot, walk around - not on the grass above that area." Old cemetaries are interesting to explore. However, when it comes to visiting the grave of someone I knew personally, I freak out. I haven't been to my Grandmother's grave yet. Mainly because my Uncle hasn't had her name engraved on the headstone yet. She shares a plot with my Grandfather. It doesn't seem real - not unless her name is there. I can't visit until then, although I feel guilty about it.

Whoah, sorry for rambling. DS3 has taken an interesting twist. Others must agree, as there have been 83 hits to the site today. Increasing traffic, yay!
Yup! I wonder which side voted for who?

For the record,
I do have a favorite,
But I've only voted for that person once, when they deserved it.
I am not *playing* favorites, and I don't think any of the other judges are either.
Now, my kids are whining about not having eaten in the last seven hours or something so it's time for me to turn this off.
P.S. I'm having a great time as a judge, and I hope everyone else is too.
Holy Moly,
I desert my computer for a few days of being sickeningly in love and come back and all hell has broke loose with the Survivors.
Honestly, I guess I really am so naive, I really didn't think there was an alliance, I thought it was all in your heads!
Wow.
On the other hand, sometimes I wish the Survivors could read our Yahoo Groups emails to each other, everyone is so much nicer there when we talk about the Survivors!
Maybe we *should* start talking about the other IC's we liked after each vote is through, I mean what would it hurt?
And if it makes them feel better, I think we should.
For instance, I really did like the Oscar the Grouch IC, and almost voted for it, but then I came across another that I liked better.
So even though it didn't get any votes, I for one really did appreciate it.
I mean, these guys have no idea what's been going on behind the scenes -
That Throcky had all sorts of comments on her IC,
That Jenistar had caused a small bit of confusion with hers (but that we all loved it)
And that TVZero, who got no votes at all, really floored some people with his very touching IC.
So yeah, I'm outing you guys (judges).
You're not all as nasty as the Survivors think you are.
One other thing: I find it charming the way so many people say "that's not what Diaryland Survivor is about." Because the beauty of Diaryland Survivor is, it's about whatever you decide it's about. Just like the real Survivor. If you want to say it's about physical endurance, then it IS. If you want to say it's about society, then it IS. But it's a blank slate. And, in a classic twist of sick genius, it becomes a reflection of the person applying their values and concepts to it. Just keep that in mind, people...if you say it's ugly, if you say it's beautiful, if you say it's filled with liars, or if you say it's all good fun, you're seeing exactly what you want to see in it. I really hope that everyone can come to see it as a challenge to yourself, not to each other. Three months from now, it's not going to matter if you won or lost. It will only matter how this experience changed you. So play on, play to win, play to grow...don't play to quit and be bitter and distrustful.
One thing I would push for would be, if you drop out of the game, you DON'T get to be a judge in any future contests. There has to be some sort of penalty. In the real Survivor, they lose MONEY! Too bad we couldn't make them put up a security deposit or something.

I've been thinking about the Judge Survivor thing, like if there's a way we could make it an IC...but right now, with all this guilt-ridden finger-pointing going on, I think the cruelest thing we can do is make them vote each other out.

Oh, wait...that's right: THAT'S THE HOW THE GAME WORKS ALREADY! SOMEBODY JUST FORGOT TO TELL THE CONTESTANTS!
Note: the prize for DS3 is a $50.00 Amazon.com gift certificate (or from another online vender if the winner chooses.) The prize is provided by me, and believe me I'd up the $ amount if I could. I already sent an email regarding this to the contestants. I have no idea where they got the $20.00 amount.

I like the drama on DS3, however, if people keep dropping out of the contest - there will not be a DS4. We've already had one person exit, and now two others are considering leaving. That sucks.

Okay, fine...I got "the Peacemaker".

And they didn't mean it in a "Wyatt Earp - Winchester '73" sort of way either.
